Hiatus Over.

Okay, so, I feel like I’ve made a statement like this far too many times.

I had to go on an impromptu hiatus. I took down my website and blog.

It wasn’t because I was concentrating on finishing or fixing my book.

It wasn’t because my dad was in the hospital again.

I am not going to elaborate on why I had to vanish. It is a private matter that was dealt with privately and will remain private.

It was a difficult couple of weeks, but that is behind me now. I can breathe again and I can write again.

However…

I’m in regrouping mode. I will not be able to finish Harlot when I’d hoped, nor will I publish when I’d hoped. I actually haven’t even opened the manuscript document in sixteen days.

My website will go live again this weekend and I will send out a monthly newsletter probably Monday. (There will be no details given about the catalyst to my hiatus, however.)

I do apologize for my swift departure. I wish I could say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’ll never take off again—but, in all honesty, some things in life are more important to me than writing. Sometimes things happen beyond our control and we don’t know how we will deal with that situation until we’re in that situation. I could have phoned it in for these last couple of weeks, but I felt an urgent need to take care of myself instead.

Trust me, this was nothing I had anticipated and will work very hard to keep from happening again. All is well now. All is well.
